Presidents report for 2007/2008 Season
This
past season was the first for the new centre. Coast Buller Timber Sports has at
times has been a trying time but also a successful season. There has been
mistakes made but I think this was to be expected.
I
would like to take this opportunity to thank the Centre secretary Barry Chalmers
for the amount of work he has done setting up the new centre. Well done Barry.
Also
I would like to thank all the officials for all the work they have done,
especially Denis and Jennifer McLaughlin
for their many years of work handicapping and record keeping. A job well done. It is time for someone else to step up as
they wish to retire for their position or should I say they have?
Representative
honours.
Congratulation
to Adam Lowe on making the NZ Team for Sydney.I am sure Adam will only benefit from the experience. Well
Done.
Tony Jensen made the juniors again a
good effort. I wish him well for his trip to Melbourne.
Also Adam Lowe Neil, Brian Hately
and Dave Evans on the effort for the South Island. Brian and Neil,Adam and Sara Nelson,Zabrina
Clough are off to Perth at the end of
September. I wish them success.
Lastly
the two old warriors John Birchfeld and Tony Dense
are of to Adelaide
in 2weeks to represent the NZ Veterans well done. A big effort will be needed
from this team.
The
club scene
All
the club meetings within the centre were run to a
acceptable level, but we all need to be consistant
with our rulings. To say it doesn't matter because it is only a local club meeting is not good
enough. All clubs can and should improve this coming season.
The
only down side to the past season was the negativety
expressed without any offers of help. We all need to work together to make all
Chopping Meetings in the Coast Buller area a success for the 2007-2008 Season.
